What type of conditions are treated? β–Ό
All conditions! Chronic or acute pain including low back, hip, knee, ankle/foot, shoulders, post-stroke, post-fall/fall risk, MS, POTS, EDS, and pediatric conditions including CP, Autism, Down Syndrome/low tone, developmental delay, genetic conditions, and much more!
Do I need a medical doctor's script to participate? β–Ό
You do not need a script for the first 60 days of treatment. Under the Code of Virginia Β§ 54.1-3482, a certified doctor of physical therapy may evaluate and treat a patient for no more than 60 consecutive days after an initial evaluation without a referral. After 60 days, a script must be present to continue.

  • Personal Pools: If you have a pool at your house or community in VA or MD, I can come to you! (+ Mileage Reimbursement).
What is your cancellation policy? β–Ό
Please understand that appointment times are limited. If you must cancel, we respectfully request 24 hours notice. Missed appointments or cancellations without 24 hours notice will incur a fee of $50.
I don’t know how to swim, can I do aquatic PT? β–Ό
Yes! Sessions are performed in the shallow end usually in hip or chest deep water. Let me know if you are nervous about the pool and I will help you feel more comfortable.
What should I wear and bring? β–Ό
Wear: Whatever you are comfortable in! Bathing suit is preferred but t-shirts/shorts are okay.

Bring: Bathing suit, towel, water bottle, and a change of clothes. If you prefer to shower at the pool, bring your shampoo/conditioner (not provided).

Meet Dr. Kristen

Kristen Kilroy is a physical therapist and doctorate of physical therapy who works with children and adults. She is a pediatric provider with extensive experience in managing developmental delays, chronic conditions, and working with children with a variety of levels of ability and neurodivergence.

She is also an experienced physical therapist at Reach Pediatric Rehab. As the business owner and therapist, she combines her two great passions: physical therapy and swimming.

She is also the author of a recently published book, Henry Goes to Aquatic Physical Therapy, which is available now. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and exploring DC!
